Undergraduate Studies at CSSH

A Liberal Arts Education Like No Other

Undergraduates in CSSH at Northeastern benefit from tight-knit communities connected by academic and social interests, as well as the resources of a large, private research university in the heart of Boston. Northeastern’s experiential education philosophy is an integral part of everything the university does, setting CSSH apart from any other liberal arts college in the country. This creates unique opportunities for students to apply classroom knowledge to research, work, and service all over the world. Students weave those lessons learned in the real world back into the classroom experience through discussions, presentations, and comprehensive senior projects.

Choose Your Own Path

Students have more than 40 different majors or minors at CSSH to choose from as well as the option to choose a pre-approved combined major or create their own. They may also declare a double major, enter the plus-one degree program track, or choose a minor or second major from one of Northeastern’s other schools and colleges. For help navigating all of these options, the Office of Student Academic Affairs, the academic advisors, and the faculty advisors are available to all CSSH students during their careers at Northeastern, from registering for freshman year classes all the way up through graduation!
